SEED DREAMING
2022-2025

What if creating images of a seed’s dream was possible? What does dreaming even mean, when the consciousness of plants remains as mysterious as the purpose of dreams.

With a seed from New Mexico, planted in my mother’s garden in Munich, the intimate witnessing of the seed’s growth into its blossoming hollyhock form unfolds as a analog photographic and sculptural exploration through light and movement. Learning about the plant’s history of migration due to her healing properties, symbolism for love and fertility in ancient times, and her resilience and popularity in today’s changing climate, I wondered if perhaps she chooses where to blossom, to whom she offers beauty, resonance and healing, or do we?

Seed Dreaming (2022 – 2025) was part of the site-specific group exhibition „Return to Earth“, presented by Əˈsemblē at Bob’s Galleria offspace garden in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The artists invite us to reflect on our relationships with the Earth, our histories, and the traces we leave behind through performance, photography, sculpture, and mixed-media works.
